Hi, I'm Chris. I'm a solo developer and, more importantly, a dad.
Like many parents, I found myself constantly worried about screen time. My 8-year-old daughter loves her tablet. She could spend hours watching videos, scrolling through feeds, or playing games that felt... somewhat empty.
I didn't want to take the tablet away completely—technology is part of her future. But I wanted that time to be active, not passive. I wanted her to be a creator, not just a consumer.
That was the spark for ZollyBooks.
As AI and technology become deeply integrated into our daily lives, I believe it's vital to help our children build a healthy relationship with these powerful tools. We shouldn't hide them from the future, but we must teach them that technology is a superpower for creation, not just a box for consumption.
I built this platform to give her (and your children) a safe place to practice that relationship. A place where they can write their own stories, master AI as a creative partner, and feel the incredible pride of becoming a published author.
Every feature in ZollyBooks—from the "safety-first" AI to the decision to remove all comments—was built with my own daughter in mind. If it's not safe enough for her, it's not in the app.
